Ms. Yunxiao Gao holds a master's degree in Information Technology form Eastern Michigan University and has 15 years of experience teaching Chinese at various levels. She began teaching Chinese in 2008. She was the host of a television variety program in China for several years. Ms. Gao has taught at several schools in southeast Michigan, including New Century Chinese School, Ann Hua Chinese School, and American Chinese School in Greater Detroit (ACSGD). She speaks standard Mandarin and specializes in simplifying core concepts to help her students understand and master the subject.

Ms. Gao loves teaching and values the positive impact it has on her students. She is approachable and enjoys helping her students whenever they need it. Ms. Gao firmly believes that all students can excel with the tight guidance and direction.

Mandatory volunteer service at least 3 times per school year for the parents of in-person class students. If you choose not to volunteer, please register the “Class” “2025-26学年义工服务付费” (Class ID: 25-26-Z-YG) for your child(ren) and pay a non-refundable fee of $50/student, then school will not assign the volunteer service.

Introduction to Bilingual Level 4 Course

Our Bilingual level 4 class uses the textbook “Yangyang Chinese”, Dialogue Edition 4.  This textbook is made for overseas Chinese intermediate course.  This series of ten textbooks, complies with the New YCT and HSK level examination outline developed by the Chinese National Hanban Office, and also has the Esperanto learning standards 5C requirements and SAT-II / AP Chinese exam equivalents. 

The level 4 class is a beginner course for learners aged 10 and up with a Chinese background (Grades 3 & 4) who meet the requirement of YCT3 or HSK2.  Students should have already mastered a minimum of 150 characters.  In this course, students will be able to grasp 110 new characters and 75 new bi-syllabic and multi-syllabic words, read 12 texts and tell the content of the texts. The course emphasizes the learning of characters and sentence structures in building up reading skills. By studying simple poems, dialogues, and prose texts, the course develops listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The students will be able to interact with teachers or classmates and complete classroom exercises.  The student be able to complete daily homework independently.
