Class Introduction

Introduction to Bilingual Level 2 Course
The Bilingual Level 2
course utilizes the ‘Young Chinese’ Dialogue Level 2 textbook, which is
specifically designed for non-Chinese speakers and covers levels 1 through 10.
Its purpose is to provide an effective learning resource for non-Chinese
speakers to develop their Chinese language skills in reading, listening,
speaking, and writing. The textbook is closely aligned with the standards set
by the Office of Chinese Language Council International, which created the YCT
and HSK standard Chinese language exams. It is also tailored to meet the
requirements of the SAT-II/AP Chinese exams.
‘Young Chinese’ Level 2 class
is the next level class for students who completed Level 1. The Level 2 class
also focuses on introducing daily life conversations, Chinese characters,
phrases, sentences, and culture. The course is comprised of 12 lessons,
including 110 characters and 75 phrases. The teacher supplements the lessons
with related topics, and by the end of the school year, students will have
mastered more characters and phrases. The topics covered in the lessons include
the expression of time, distance, health, and transportation. The textbook is designed
for easy practice and memorization. By the end of the course, students will be
able to have everyday life conversations with their peers. Additionally, the
course introduces Chinese character structure and the meanings of common
radical components. Students will also learn Chinese Pinyin, which will help students
read Chinese with clear articulation and a mellow and full tune.
‘Young Chinese’ Level 2
students receive a textbook, two exercise books, and one character book, which
provides them with comprehensive learning materials to support their language
acquisition.
