Course Description: According to the American Test Anxieties Association, roughly 38% of students identify as “bad test takers” and allow this myth to dictate their SAT or ACT scores. This two-semester class introduces the verbal portion of the two main standardized college entrance exams. In the class, students acquire effective and comprehensive study skills, become familiar with taking authentic ACT and SAT exams, and learn how to use ACT- and College Board-approved test-taking strategies. Students are given weekly homework assignments in order to identify problem areas on which to improve.
